Paint The World: Part Three

Remember the brightly colored world map that was being painted onto the bare wall at the local soup kitchen?

I’m back to report that it is nearly finished. Jovy, the service-project oriented youth group that started as a result of Peace Corp’s youth leadership camp has been self-motivated about arranging work days to paint.

There was a pause in action as all the paint and supplies were trapped inside a locked door with lost key. Filled with a desire to paint, one of the smaller members crawled through the slatted windows to retrieve the supplies.

So the painting continued on.

Now all that remains is to label each country with its name, an important part of ensuring this map not only brightens the wall, but serves as an interesting educational piece to those who pass.

  1. Nice looking map. Was is the giant Peru-sized island off the coast of Peru? Where the elves sail after Sauron fails to take over South America?
