To practice following instructions and to learn some new vocabulary words, we had our English class make banana smoothies yesterday. And let me tell you, in this heat they are often just the refreshing snack you need.
Since they’re so simple, I can muster up the energy to make them and we almost always have bananas on hand. Note that the bananas here are very small and usually quite ripe. Ripe = sweet so keep that in mind if you try this recipe.
Oh, and when I’m feeling particularly fancy, I sprinkle cinnamon on top. Because cinnamon is good on anything. Or drink it from a cute little teacup. These smoothies are a great afternoon snack that turned out to be a big hit with our English students as well. They even admitted they didn’t need any sugar, an ingredient they were certain was missing before they tasted them.
4 small bananas
1 cup water
1 tray ice cubes
1. Blend ingredients together until smooth.
2. Enjoy immediately.
Add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter before blending.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top before drinking.
I hear the fall weather is much warmer than usual. Do you think a simple banana smoothie is just what’s needed to jazz up your day?
