A couple of months ago Isaiah and I were asked by our alma mater, Goshen College, to write about our decision to join the Peace Corps for their alumni magazine, The Bulletin. After giving the assignment thought we realized that although becoming volunteers was surely a decision we made together, we had our own reasons for doing so. Therefore, we composed the following article with little stories from throughout our lives that nudged us in their own way to where we are today. Who knew Kenny Rogers’ songs and African masks could do that?
We were glad for the opportunity to do this reflecting and are happy with how the whole thing came out. Read the article digitally here or by clicking the image below.

Great article. An exciting adventure that you are allowing us to follow.
Thanks, Patty!
Great Article. It will be fun to read it again when it comes in the mail.
For sure! We´ll see how long it takes to reach us.
Wonderful article! Your stories and very similar to what led Phil and I to China and other places abroad.
Thanks, Phil and Karen! And oh how we’d love to led an SST group someday! Vamos a ver…
Thanks for sharing your stories, guys! It was fun to read this back in January (just now getting around to responding to personal e-mails again… school has actually been much better overall this semester, tho).
Glad to hear the semester has been going well for you!
